July 9th Bruce Connors Will Face Micah Miller

Bruce Connors will face what many say is his toughest challenge yet on July 9th in the XFC.  Micah Miller, a WEC veteran with nearly twice the fighting experience, is not someone to be taken lightly.  Bruce not only jumped on the opportunity, but requested someone of Micah’s talent so he could have a chance to show the MMA world why he deserves to be showcased.

Xtreme Fighting Championships will hold its next event, XFC 11: The Next Generation, July 9 at the Times Forum in Tampa.

The first bout takes place at 7 p.m., but the there will be live music on the plaza starting at 4 p.m.

The card will air live on HDNet Fights.

XFC 10 Night of Champions Bruce Connors is Back in Action!

In Bruce Connors’ fight back to title contention, Derek Schiffer is the next opponent that stands in his way. Derek is a decorated grappler with gold medals from Abu Dahbi, US Open, as well as an NCAA D-1 Wrestler and a Purple Belt in BJJ. On Friday, March 19th at the St. Pete Times Forum we will see how these two skill sets measure up.

Bruce’s brother Andrew will also be making his way to the cage that night in his pro debut against a talented young fighter from Tampa, Jean Colon.  Andrew hopes to show the XFC fans that fighting runs in the blood.

Connors attributes his mental sharpness when entering the cage to his scout sniper experience. “Going through that kind of hell, there is nothing worse than dealing with that kind of stuff,” said Connors. “So getting into the ring is just a whole different thing. September 5th Bruce Connors will be stepping back in the cage to face Tim Snyder, who comes with an impressive 9-3 record. Bruce is looking to come back strong from his last decision loss against Jarrod Card in an XFC title matchup . The fight will be hosted by The Xtreme Fighting Championships and be shown live on HDNet. If you are in the Southeast you surely know about the record setting crowd the XFC has in attendance at the St. Pete Times Forum, and we expect nothing less this weekend in the first live XFC HDNet event at the Forum.

Also on the card, Bruce’s long time teammate and friend, Mikey Gomez will be taking on War Machine in the main event and fellow Paragon Fighter Frank Santore will be facing Olympic Wrestling alternate Nate Jolly live on HDNet.

Bruce in the newspaperBruce Connors has donned many uniforms; the cap and gown he wore at the St Cloud High School class of 1998 graduation, the United States Marines and the Police Department.

Connors proudly served in the U.S. Marines Corp as a sniper. He then parlayed his four years of service into the Police Department as an officer and a part of the S.W.A.T. team, which was recently ranked second in the world S.W.A.T. competition against 72 countries. Connors was awarded the Hero Medal by the Police department for his live-saving efforts.

Years of self-discipline and training, fundamentals which generated excellence in both the Marine Corp and his law enforcement duties have also been the backbone of Bruce’s success in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) arena. Training at Gracie Barra Orlando , Bruce once again has excelled in his craft, winning his first two matches, both by submission. Victory over his opponents, each having extensive wins and intimidating fight resumes which relegated Bruce to “underdog” status, has quickly moved Connors into the upper echelon of MMA fighters… Click picture for full article
